Change Tack!

I thought we had had bad weather, but one of the benefits, if you can call it that, of living half way up a mountain, is that although you can get swept away, there is little chance of you getting flooded, and that is exactly what happened in the city of Medellin yesterday.

The tributaries leading into the main river, were overflowing, the river itself broke it\’s banks, and as a result there was flooding all over the City, I don\’t think I will be visiting for a day or two!

Also in the other direction, just down the road at Barbosa, they lost a bridge, thank goodness no one was on it.

This will undoubtedly effect local residents in a big way, and knowing how slow the Authorities are to act, it will be for some time.

Today, I woke up to the start of a lovely morning, and that changed my plans immediately, knowing full well that by 3pm the sky will be black and the heavens will open, drowning us once again.

Once Marcela had left for work, out came the hedge trimmer, and the azulina and the curazao had a trim, they are recovering nicely after the barbaric cut they had to endure when I installed the roofing panels behind them.

That done, it was time to cut the grass, I guess this is one of the benefits of using a brush cutter as opposed to a lawn mower, you can cut whilst it is wet. With all the rain, the grass has been growing at an alarming rate, and once cut, I have to admit, I have never seen it look so green. However the brush cutter did struggle, that is the penalty of buying a \’cheap\’ Chinese copy, when this packs up, which I don\’t think will be long, I am going to see the Technician I use for repairs, he sells second hand professional versions at a fraction more than I paid for this one, and he will be more disposed to help me out if I need repairs, at the moment, he shakes his head when I walk through the door!
