Not One of My Better Days

The day was going so well, after the first hiccup, the fillet I had made for the gazebo post, had to be scrapped, I had glued and screwed the additional piece to the wrong side, but knowing how I had made the first one, I had another made in five minutes.

Once the waterproofer I used on the wood had dried, I mixed up some concrete, poured some in the base of the hole, and then set the fillet in place, gluing and screwing it. That done I kept mixing up small quantities of concrete until I had enough, and the job was done. It was then a case of mixing up some glue and sawdust to seal the fillet to the original post, just to keep water out.

Once the glue has dried I will sand the post, and see if it needs wooden plates to cover the joint. I was going to take photos this afternoon, but events overtook me.

I was on the my ASUS computer, opening one of my programs, when I received a coded message saying there was a file failure, thinking it was just the program, I OK\’d it, and it disappeared, I closed the program, re-opened it, got the same message, but then everything crashed, and all I had was a blue screen.

I followed the instructions to restore, but it told me that I did not have an operating system, in other words my Windows crashed beyond redemption,

Since I only bought the computer in April, it will be going back tomorrow, how long it will take for them to sort out I wont know until I get there, I am hoping I will have it back before Christmas, I\’ll just have to wait and see. I am just glad that I have everything backed up on an external serval, now will be the test, when I try to download it again, in the past I have used iDrive, but changed to Sync.com, which I have not had to call on for my backed up files, so we will see, my photos are not a problem as they are also backed up on Cloud, it is my documents that would cause a problem if they are not recoverable.

In the mean time, I have had to dig out my old laptop, and load essential programs needed to get me through the next few days.
