On Wednesday the Father-in-law arrived for Christmas and New Year, he came early, because he had a specialist appointment for his eyes, yesterday, I didn\’t understand the full outcome, but it appears that he may have glaucoma, and is losing the sight of at least one eye…that sucks.
However he is not my favourite man at the moment, the day before he came, he phoned and sounded ill, I asked him if he was OK, and he said he was fine, only to arrive with a bad dose of flu, and last night I started, just what I need with Christmas coming! He knows that I am not happy.
Yesterday morning, I took the Royal Enfield to Medellin for a pre-insurance inspection, and fortunately it passed with flying colours.
On the way back I stopped off in Copacabana, did a bit of shopping, then went to every motor accessory, and electrical component shop, looking for scotchlok connectors so I can install my cameras on the bike, but no one has them…\”Why don\’t you use tape like everyone else?\” they said, well it looks as if I am going to have to.
This morning we had to be at the Planning Dept for 8am to sign the last of the forms, and walked away with our new construction license, so the house is now totally legal, and we can sell it without any worries, however it has taught us a lesson, and we will be scrutinising any future purchase with a fine tooth comb.
Unfortunately, on the way, I lost the bike, in the roadworks, they haven\’t been back to finish, and the road is covered in loose gravel on a 90º bend, a car came the other way, in the middle of the road, I tried to move over, but the wheels went from under me, fortunately I was doing no more than walking pace, and the only scratches are to the engine protection bar, so it did it\’s job, a clean, followed by a quick spray of paint and no one will know. We called into the Town Hall Infrastructure Dept, and they said they had no money to pay the Contractors to finish the road, however they have agreed to go and clean up the gravel…when, is anyone\’s guess.
Now back home, I feel lousy, so will probably go back to bed for an hour or two.
