Summer\’s Back!

There are times that I don\’t envy people having to work, and today was one of them, it has been an absolute scorcher.

I started the day but doing the usual chores, then nipped down town, and did the shopping. On my return it was time to get stuck in to some work, weed killing, tidying up under the hedge, and then the vacuum came out, after two days of rain there was a good half inch of water in the pool again, so that all had to be drained.  Yes, I know, if I got on with the renovation work, I wouldn\’t have to worry about it, I will get back to the work, but I have had my attention diverted away from it for a week or so, with preparing tax returns, medical appointments etc. which reminds me, I had my brain scan yesterday, but I have to go back for the results next week, and even then I doubt if I will be any the wiser, until I see the Psychiatrist, whenever that might be.

Once I had finished draining the pool, it was time to get out of the sun, which was really strong today, it is weird at the moment, when considering yesterday, I wore a sleeveless jacket all morning, as it was grey and wet. I moved into the workshop, and started preparing some 2x4s to make a support to go in the pool to drape the original cover back over.

This afternoon, after Marcela had left for work, I moved everything into the pool and set to work

It was easier this way, because I could use the walls of the pool to support the frame

Now, I have just got to jet wash the cover, and see if this support works, it is well braced, so there is no reason why it shouldn\’t, provided I can get the cover sufficiently taught, so the rain water does not pool.

That done, it was time for a shower, so upstairs and enjoyed the views out of the bedroom window

before jumping into what turned out to be a freezing shower, I still don\’t know what was wrong with the heater, it\’s working fine now, but it was certainly a refreshing shower!
