Yesterday, I painted the cut plywood edges, unlike the previous unit, where I spray painted them, I decided that resulted in too much waste, so I mixed up some black gloss with \’desolvente\’, and brushed it on, it doesn\’t look any different to the sprayed, it just takes a while longer to dry.
Today, I spent the morning out shopping, but before I left, it was back into the workshop, and I spray laquered the drawer faces and shelf tops. On my return, I fixed the handles to the drawers, and that completes this phase
I will leave this well alone until tomorrow, to let the laquer harden, then I will clean and move this unit into the house, after which I will turn back to the desk top itself, I want to soften the edges, and I will do that, by rounding the corners, and routing along the front edge with a round over bit. That will also have to be painted and laquered, which will take a couple of days, after which, will be one of the jobs I detest most, painting! I will redecorate the room, it won\’t take long, it\’s a small room, and only two and a half walls are painted…it\’s just the thought of doing it.
