An Expensive Month

Yesterday should have been a morning for washing, but after the first machine load, it was obvious, that the washing machine wasn\’t going to do me any favours by carrying on into the New Year, after it had finished sashaying across the tiles, I unloaded the machine, unplugged it, and removed the water pipes…end of an era.

So after Marcela had showered, we headed to Bello, where we found another machine at 30% discount on \’Black Weekend\’, it is free delivery, in 3 to 4 days, and then if required we can ring the factory, which is only three minutes down the road, and arrange for them to come and set it up, although I will probably do that myself, I have always done it in the past, but I\’ll wait and see, if they offer a quick service, I\’ll take them up on the offer.

That done, and feeling decidedly poorer, we went for lunch, and then headed home, after Marcela had had a mouch in the shops.

One thing I have noticed, is that the work on my exhaust seems to have done the trick, the Montero is running a lot smoother, and far less noisy…long may it continue!

This morning I started by trimming shrubs, and taking the ladder and trimming the azulina hedge along the neighbours track, that should last until New Year now, hopefully. That done, I moved the washing machine from the drying area, down into my workshop, where I stripped anything useful off it, including the motor,  the rest I will put out for the scrap man, next time I hear him in the road. The one thing I did notice was that during the assembly, they had missed putting many of the screws and bolts in place, everything seemed very secure, but you always think that is they hadn\’t scrimped, maybe, just maybe, it might have lasted longer.

I slept like a log last night, not waking until 5.55am, I then jumped up to get the rubbish sacks out, before I missed the Binmen. That said, it must be the weather, but at 2.45pm I am now ready for a siesta, so will sign off for now.
