Little Sleep!

It looks like our problem of noise at the Fincas de Recreo is back, at the moment Villa Connie (Los Liones) alongside us, and Finca Gallera at the rear of us, are both rented out for the week-end, and it appears they are having a competition as to who can have the loudest music.

This started early evening yesterday, and hasn\’t yet stopped. Despite the installation of anti-noise windows, the music was still loud enough to wake me a couple of times in the night, and at 4.50am I gave up and got up, which was when I used my sound meter to see how loud it was, considering it still seemed horrendous, and yet both had reduced the volume.

I didn\’t call the Police, there is no point, they don\’t arrive until daylight, I know they have other work to do as well, but they are forever making excuses, and with the reputation of the local police, nothing would happen, despite the new Police Code giving them the powers. We rang them a couple of weeks ago, and they arrived mid morning…a waste of time!

The Police should be fully aware, this problem has been going on for years now, but do we ever have Patrols at night, not at week-ends when we need them that is for sure.

The Town Hall / Alcaldia de Copacabana, did show interest, and we were informed recently that it was their intention to impose regulations only allowing music until 2am, which would at least allow us a few hours sleep, but nothing has come of it.

It looks like we are going to have to go on the warpath again.
