I seem to be giving one excuse after another for not working at the moment, but to be honest my back is playing up, and I am unable to doing anything that requires any amount of bending, for the time being.
I went to see a Doctor the other day, not an Orthopaedic Specialist, but a Physiatrist, I had never heard of one before, I had to look it up, they are just General Doctors specialising in pain relief, unfortunately, mine did not appear that interested, other than to lose weight, which is all well and good, but I have been ordered to limit my exercise, due to the knee and back, which left me with diet, well, I have my toast in the morning, a one course meal at lunchtime, which usually consists of meat (chicken, beef, or pork) with salad and rice, and All Bran in the evening, cut down any more and I will slit my throat! He has said that they wont be able to alleviate the pain altogether, but wants to go down the route of Physiotherapy!
I hate Physios, it was a Physio who caused this latest back problem when trying to sort out my knee. So he said that he would order 10 Physio sessions, and 20 Hydrotherapy sessions, then tells me they do not have a pool!!!! The order had to be submitted to my Health Provider, and it came back yesterday with authorisation for 5 of each, and then I have to reapply for the next batch, but this lead to two problems, the first being that the Hydrotherapy is miles away out beyond the other side of Medellin, I can\’t honestly afford the travelling, and the Physio has been booked with the Company that damaged my back in the first place, so I have refused that, because I am in the process of a formal complaint against them. It looks like I will have to stay on painkillers for the time being.
As a result of all this, I have taken the bull by the horns, and booked a private appointment with an Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in spinal columns, that is in two weeks, as I want a second opinion. In the meantime I am stuffed! However to be honest, funds are a bit tight at the moment due to Brexit, and the effect on the exchange rate, so maybe this came at the right time.
I\’ll give updates as and when I can, and if I can do a bit of work, I\’ll post it, but don\’t think I have abandoned the Blog, I haven\’t!
