Well, I have finally found out what has been causing the hold-up on drawing up the New Escritura / Deeds, in Spain, the inefficiency of the Gestor in Torvizcon  José Manuel, combined with the bloodymindedness  of my neighbour Ana.

As I have previously said, for some reason all neighbours and former owners, have to give their \’blessing\’ to the new Deeds, I still haven\’t worked out why! anyway, the apartment I sold to Ana\’s Family was bought by two Sons, and a Daughter, the Gestor had been unable to contact one of the Sons, because Ana refused to give him the contact details, saying he was in trouble with the law. However the Gestor just sat on this information, and did not pass it on, instead waiting until the last minute, and applying for a Court Order against Ana.

Once we had this information, José, the buyer for my house, made some enquiries, and within a few hours we had the information, needed for the Court, which will now arrange for the Son, to attend his local Court and authorise the documents. I am seething, had the Gestor opened his mouth, this would have all been resolved, and the sale would have been through by the end of the month, if not earlier.

I have since heard, that as soon as Ana\’s other Daughter heard what was going on, she went round to see José and apologised for Ana\’s reaction, and confirmed her brother\’s address.

Now we just have to hope that the Judge, does not decide to become pregnant again!

I learn something new every day, people say that Colombia is a third world country, in some ways that is true, in others they are way ahead of the game. I was talking to Marcela about Drink Driving especially at Christmas, and she informed me that every Car Insurance Company in the Country, has a system in place called \’Designated Driver\’, if you decide to go out and have a drink, you contact the Insurance Company call-centre, and arrange a time you want to leave your function, they will send a car with two drivers, and one will take you and your car home. There is no additional cost involved, and no limit on the number of times you can use the service. I think this is a great idea, but not knowing how often it is used, I haven\’t a clue how long they will be able to finance this service, the longer the better!!

I moved to Colombia from Spain in 2012, and I am happily married to a Colombiana.
