We had our first confrontation two nights ago, our immediate neighbour is a Colombian Taxi Driver, it turns out that he picked up a Fare, and started talking about us, not knowing that the family knew us, and referred to Marcela as a Motherf**ker, and a Black b**ch, also throwing about some false allegations about us, fortunately for us, and not for him, the Fare, was a neighbour of Marcela\’s mum, who was outside and saw him, when he arrived for the pickup.
When the neighbour told ‘mi Suegra’ about the conversation, she blew a stack and rang us, I knew something was wrong when Marcela started hyperventilating!!! anyway after she told me, we went straight next door, and I called him out, bearing in mind I can\’t afford to get in trouble or my Visa will be revoked, I had to revert to Police mode!
To cut a very long story short, the neighbour was left in no doubt as to his future if any more comments were heard, by this time the mother-in-law had arrived, and given him the evil eye, which is frightening in itself!
Then Marcela\’s Sister turned up in a Taxi, it turned out \’Mum\’ had phoned her before coming round, however she was armed with a knife, bloody hell, I am glad she arrived after it was over!
I bought an expandable Police Baton a few weeks ago, now I will be carrying it every time we go out, because we feel that it is only a matter of time before this situation gets out of hand.
I thought that was the end of the matter, until last night we received a phone call from \’ La Suegra\’ to inform us, she had been chatting about the incident on FaceBook, when a female relative from Medellin, became involved, who it turns out, had been involved with Pablo Escobar, and offered to send the appropriate message to our Neighbour!!! Fortunately she was told that her services were not required at this stage.
Today I had an email from Spain, it is not good news, it turns out that all the paperwork for the new escritura had not been completed by the Gestor, as I was lead to believe, and that one of those who had to be contacted with regard to accepting the escritura, has not been traced, it is one of the son\’s of my former neighbour Ana, she has refused to give his address, but has now been issued with a Court Order to do so.
The Court has been spoken to today, and they have said it will be a further two months from the date they have the address, before they issue the Escritura, and that excludes Christmas and New Year, so, it looks like a minimum of three months more here. I think after this week, we are both somewhat depressed!
