Family day out

Yesterday started with Marcela and I having a swimming session in the pool, I still have some way to go before I can swim like I used to, if ever, but at least I am not huffing and puffing now!

We then went out to do the weekly shop, and for some reason that took us until late afternoon, so I was glad to get back.

This morning we set off with all the Family in two cars, and made our way to El Carmen de Viboral, about 50 minutes south east of Medellin, again this was a fact finding mission! El Carmen wasn\’t so much a village as a medium sized town, with everything you would need, but maybe too big for my liking. However the surrounding countryside was nice, with plenty of Fincas in manageable sized plots, and nice views. It is certainly a contender, when house hunting, but having spoken with Marcela, not top of our list.

We found a nice simple Restaurant in town, and had our main course, then trooped back to our cars, and headed back towards Medellin, stopping at San Antonio, where they have a facility in town (I don\’t know how else to describe it!) where you go in, pay your fee, you are given a marker, and you select a pudding, hand over your marker, and take your Pud outside to eat it in the street, or stand around inside if there is room. It sells nothing else just desserts… and they are lovely!

From there we headed home, and Marcela is not feeling so great so has gone for a lie down, hopefully she will be back to her old self soon.
