Going Spanish?

Friday, we did as planned, and picked up Sebastian late morning, and took him out for lunch, then Marcela and Sebastian, spent some time in Kid\’s Centre, playing on the machines, I am still not sure which of them enjoys it most.

We then took Sebastian back home with us, where he stayed until collected in the evening.
Yesterday, we were going out to a Spanish Restaurant \’La Albufera de Valencia\’ in Medellin, we had made a reservation a week ago on the basis that there was a Flamenco Show, which Marcela wanted to see, we had also been told that all the ingredients were imported from Spain, so it was totally authentic.
In the morning we received a phone call to say that they were sorry but the Show was next week!! A bit late, as Marcela was already preparing herself.

We arrived at the restaurant, and the atmosphere was very Spanish, I was impressed, and we were made very welcome, however the Waiter then started insisting that his recommendations were the ones to select, when he saw the look on my face, he backed off, and then lost interest in us altogether. The menu unless local to Valencia, was unrecognisable from any I had seen in Spain, I only saw two dishes that were remotely similar to those I knew, although there were variations on menus from Spain, which used local ingredients, which in turn, put paid to their claim of imported ingredients.

However the food we had was excellent, at their prices it should be! The atmosphere and the beautiful Lady with me, made the evening…

Will we be going back? not for a while!

I moved to Colombia from Spain in 2012, and I am happily married to a Colombiana.
