Yesterday morning was wasted, we went into Medellin to DIAN which is the equivalent of HMRC, when organising to import my clothes etc., I had to register with DIAN in order to pay the customs duty, however in order to do so, they registered me as an Importer, and told me to return to have that changed once the goods arrived, otherwise I would be receiving tax bills, and probably be thrown out of the Country for alledgedly working contrary to my Visa!!
On arrival at DIAN we were turned away, having been told that we needed an original and copy of a utility bill to gain entry, Marcela put up a good fight, but we got no where. Having been registered at the Office, we could not see the logic in having to take these papers again, after all, I had the registration papers with me, there must be some logic to it somewhere, but I can\’t think of it!
From there it was back to Bello for Marcela to pay bills, and by this time, it was getting late, so we were forced to eat out yet again!!! (I got on the scales this morning, and eating out will have to stop 🙂 )
This morning, I left home at 7.45am to walk into town for a dental appointment, to have a guard fitted, to stop me breaking my crowns during the night, I have got to return next week for a final check, and then, hopefully, all dental work is finished. Marcela in the mean time had gone into the City, for a meeting with her Boss, and I wouldn\’t have wanted to be in his shoes today! Having finished in the Dentist, I had a lovely walk back in the sun, resisting the urge to stop off for a coffee and a cheese bread, on the way!!!!
