More headbanging!

It has been an odd sort of day, the alarm went off at 6am, as Marcela had to be in Medellin for 8.30am for a meeting, I couldn\’t get back to sleep so I got up as well.

After a slow start, I did some cleaning, then prepared lunch, before going for a walk. It was very warm out there, and I was glad that I had taken a bottle of water with me.

Once Marcela had returned, and we had had lunch, we went to the Commercial Centre, firstly we went to check if the application to join the Health system had come back, but nothing… so we went and did some shopping before returning home.

My next project it to get a Colombian Driving Licence, and because I have a Spanish licence, I can exchange it, but at a price. Here you do not have a combined licence, if you want a car licence and a motorcycle licence you have to have separate licences.

I have to go to Medellin to the Centre that deals both with Licensing for people and vehicles, have a Medical which they have informed me will take two hours, God knows what this entails. I then have to go to their Driving School, who verify that I can drive, which apparently involves them looking at my Spanish Licence, taking my fingerprint and signing me off as safe, and all without seeing me at the wheel. Later I have to go to another Driving School, which specialises in Motorcycles, and they look at my licence, take my fingerprint, and sign me off as safe. All this for a cost of about 170 sterling. Marcela has obtained all the details, and hopefully we will get this out of the way next week sometime.

I moved to Colombia from Spain in 2012, and I am happily married to a Colombiana.
